Blackbutt Flooring Newtown, SYDNEY NSW
We worked directly with the Home Owner on this town house in Sydney’s Inner West. Initially the Home Owner was undecided on species and considering Blackbutt, Stringybark or Tasmanian Oak, three cream coloured Australian Hardwood species. After an in-home consultation the Owner decided on Blackbutt. Blackbutt, with its warm, honey and light brown tones will work well with all manner of colour pallets and decor styles.
In an effort to keep the costs down we installed the 80 x 19 mm Blackbutt T&G timber boards on hardwood timber battens, visit our Over Battens page for more on the installation process. The timber was Select grade meaning the features ie. knots, gum veins and pin holes were relatively few in number, to learn more about grading downloand our Consumer Guide, page 13 in particular goes into detail on the subject. The flooring was Hurford Hardwood production and was later sanded and finished with Synteko ‘Classic’. The gloss level chosen was Gloss / 90.
