Brazilian Walnut Wahroonga, SYDNEY NSW
This spectacularly designed and constructed Palatial Homes home featured a Brazilian Walnut floor to both the Ground & First floor. We supplied and installed raw 140 x 18 mm Brazilian Walnut T&G timber flooring which we purchased from Indusfloor, an Australian based exotic hardwood flooring Importer. As the product was raw (Indusfloor also produce a very popular pre-finished engineered option) it did need to be site finished, so after the extensive ‘fit out’ was complete we returned to sand and polish.
The floor was finished with Synteko Urethane, an oil modified urethane or UMO as it is commonly referred. These spirit based solvent-borne coatings combine an oil with a smaller amount of a urethane. To learn how to maintain your Urethane treated floor visit our Download & Maintenance.
Brazilian Walnut flooring is the hardest on the market with an impressive 16.4 janka rating. The closest comparable (hardness wise) Australian Hardwood species on the market is Grey Box with a janka rating of 15.00, which is considered extremely hard.
