Brush Box Parquetry West Ryde, SYDNEY NSW
This timeless and classical parquetry floor was our 2012 entrant into the Australian Timber Flooring Association’s Timber Floor of the Year Competition. Our Client, The Home Owner, knew exactly what he was looking for in a floor, sourcing and acquiring the beautiful Recycled Brush Box Parquetry from Australian Architectural Hardwood in Kempsey on the Mid North Cost of New South Wales. The parquetry blocks were ‘over sized‘ at 400 x 80 mm (as opposed to the standard size of 260 x 65 mm) and installed in a Herringbone pattern directly to the existing Cypress Pine & Particle Board sub-floors. The fixing method used to install the blocks, which were 12 mm thick, was the recommended method of ‘direct stick‘. The finish applied to the floor was Synteko Classic. We use and recommend ‘Classic’ on old and new Brush Box floors.
