Tallowwood Flooring Beaumont Hills, Sydney
This project also came to us as a ‘remove and replace’ job for a Builder speciliasing in Insurance repair work. The Home Owner had experienced a severe moisture ingress resulting in complete loss. The timber flooring and the hardwood timber battens to the entry, dining room, hall, kitchen and family room needed to be entirely removed and replaced ‘like for like’. We took up the existing battens and 80 x 19 mm Feature Grade Tallowwood T&G timber flooring and exposed the concrete sub-floor for a period of time (to dry) before reinstating the new flooring. To learn more about the process of installation of timber flooring over battens visit our Over Battens page.
After some settling time we returned to sand and polish the new Tallowwood floor with Synteko Urethane, an oil modified urethane or UMO as it is commonly referred. These spirit based solvent-borne coatings combine an oil with a smaller amount of a urethane. To learn how to maintain your Urethane treated floor visit our Download & Maintenance.
