Grey Ironbark Flooring Kellyville, SYDNEY NSW
This was a floor we installed to Display Home in Home World Kellyville in Sydney’s North West. The 180 x 21 mm Grey Ironbark T&G timber flooring was installed to the upstairs Foyer and Walkways and the Downstairs Kitchen, Dining, Lounge and Study over mixed substrates of Plywood and Particle Board. The super wide boards were trowel glued, over a full bed of SikaBond®-T54 (J) Low viscosity and direct adhering adhesive for Wood Flooring, secret nailed & top nailed at 450 mm centres for additional fastening. The floor was sanded and polished with Synteko Classic, which we also applied to the Grey Ironbark stair case and handrails constructed by the Builder.
If you like 180 mm wide boards, but would prefer not to see top nails, we would recommend using an Overlay timber flooring product which does not need to be top nailed. To learn more download our 14mm Wide Board Overlay brochure or visit our Haberfield page.
Grey Ironbark is up there with the hardest Australian Hardwood flooring species on the market. Species hardness is measured in Janka numbers, the higher the number the harder the species. Grey Ironbark is rated at an extremely high 14, with only Grey Box being rated harder at 15 (when it comes to locally grown species). Grey Ironbark’s high janka rating makes it perfect for flooring in high traffic areas.
